Here is an awesome tip from Sarah, a savvy mom with lots of ideas on how to save money.
“Pancakes with fresh fruit and big cups of coffee are some of our favorite ways to spend summer Sundays. Just as families find their summer rhythm, school supply lists come out and major retailers run circulars in Sunday papers advertising serious Back-to-School sales. Rather than letting this phenomenon act as a dud in an otherwise smashing series of summer fireworks, consider using those sales with the ENTIRE calendar year in mind. Think about the squeals your kids will emit when they pull out brand new markers or crayons from their stockings come December. Do you donate to holiday charities? Pull together an art station for several kids for pennies and you will save yourself time and money come the holiday season. Or, plan an Easter Art Show with your brood. Buy all the art supplies this month and stash them away until Easter. On Easter morning, have the baskets ready and ask the kids to create masterpieces while you hide eggs. Throughout the year, you will use many of the supplies available for major discounts this month. Look around, make a list, and stock up. You will save yourself time and money.”
