Safety In Motion

I recently had Erin Malone (a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor) from Safety In Motion come to our home for a car seat installation inspection and consultation. I was SHOCKED at the things that I didn’t know and/or the things I was misinformed about. She helped us not only make sure our current convertible car seat was installed correctly in both our cars (it wasn’t), but she also helped us plan ahead for when new baby arrives this summer.  I can’t more highly recommend her service.   What you will learn could be life saving, and it is a small price to pay for how much safer you will make your children.  With all the valuable things she was telling me, I asked her if she would write some important tips for my blog, and she agreed!!

Easy Recipe: Rigatoni Barese

RIGATONI BARESE
Serves 4

2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 pound mild Italian sausage
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
Salt & pepper to taste
6 cups torn fresh spinach
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes
16 oz. rigatoni pasta
Parmesan cheese, freshly shaved

The Best Hour of the Day

I am excited to introduce a new series of guest blogs, where real moms (like you!) write in with things they want to share.  I know this blog will probably strike a chord with you amazing moms that are working hard both inside AND outside of the home.  Here is what Annika wrote in:  

Over the recent holiday break, my husband and I had a Date Night (thank you Grandma and Grandpa!) and we went to see “Marley and Me.” Dog lover or not, a truly heartwarming film that’s about a lot more than just a naughty dog…it’s also about the choices we make as we morph from a couple to a family and the joy and pain and growth we experience. One line in the film, however, did sting a little. Jennifer Aniston’s character says: “I don’t want to be one of those moms who only sees her kids for an hour each night.” Ouch. I am one of those moms.
