Personalized Cards Mailed From Your Phone!

see more by

I love the Ink Cards app and think every mom should have it on their phone. Seriously.

Once you download the app, you can customize and then mail a personalized card or postcard from your phone for less than you can buy a greeting card in the store with postage!

Personalized Cards Mailed From Your Phone

You can find Ink Cards in the Apple store here and Google Play here.

It’s SO easy! Your camera roll will populate at the bottom of the designs. Just scroll through, pick a cute design, select your photo(s) and then customize with your own text.

Many postcards are only $1.99 each with free shipping and custom cards with postage and envelopes were only $4.99 ea with free shipping!  You can barely find a generic greeting card in the stores these days for less than $4.99 for a good one, and that isn’t even personalized.  I can’t tell you the hours I have wasted reading greeting card after greeting card in the stores looking for the perfect cards for friends. Now I don’t even have to step foot in a store again!

I just personalized two cards to send to two different people and it took me less than five minutes., now go and download and tell me what you think!

Hello Shea! Minted Birth Announcements

Minted is a Long Time Sponsor + Links are Affiliate Links

In today’s world of instantly gratifying Social Media we know immediately when a friend has had a baby by their Facebook and/or Instagram update –  it is so sweet when newborn babies are filling my feed!  I have to say, in this sea of online images I truly love when I receive an elegant piece of mail I can hold in my hands, boasting a photograph of a beautiful baby signed by the proud parents (and sometimes siblings).

The announcement feels grand, and important, and it makes me feel special that I was included on their list.

Minted Birth Announcements

So when Minted reached out to me and offered Minted birth announcements for our bouncing baby girl (#3) I was thrilled, of course!  Minted has the sweetest designs, and I love that each one is offered in different color options.  Some of my faves are So Much Love To GivePetite Measurements, and Fancy Floral Frame.

The high quality product consistently delivered by Minted is unparalleled.  Their card stock is the thickest.  And yes, thickness matters.

After much deliberation, I chose Watercolor Bunting Birth Announcements in pink since we had been “not finder outers” this time around.

We had pictures taken by the amazingly talented Kristin Eldridge– watching her mold our sweet baby Shea into adorable little poses, softly patting her back to sleep when she stirred was awe-inspiring.  I wanted to take Kristin home with me!  We are in love with the images she captured of our Shea-Bear, and even more so with photographs of all three of our little ladies.

It was a must to include the backing option with a photograph so I could include Shea’s proud big sisters as well.

The FREE recipient addressing is seriously a lifesaver for me right now.  I had entered all of our addresses into Minted’s Address Assistant for our Christmas cards this year and so when it came time to figure out our announcements it was SO EASY!

And, actually there have been multiples times I have referenced the Address Assistant from my phone when I’m out and about and need a friend’s address.  So very convenient!

I am so excited for these to fill the mailboxes of our friends and loved ones!

Minted Nursery Art

Minted also offers gorgeous nursery wall art.  We have the most adorable photograph I wanted to put in Shea’s nursery of  Shea and her Great Grandma Theresa Shea Paoletti the day she came home from the hospital.

The grin on Great Grandmas face is priceless, and Minted had the PERFECT nursery art design called Colorful Stages which allowed me to use my photo and include a caption to share the special relationship of Great Grandma and her namesake.  Surrounded by the whitewashed herringbone frame, I am slightly OBSESSED.

Minted is always offering helpful stylized tips like their Gallery Wall How To on their homepage right now, which I have to say, I am in love with a well done gallery wall, but find the project intimidating.

Love a deal?  (Yeah, so do I!)  Minted is always running promo codes and sending out artsy inspiration so be sure to subscribe for their email updates at the bottom of their homepage.

Happy holidays from our families to yours!

Now that Thanksgiving has officially passed, I feel as if I have full permission to get into the holiday spirit, and no better way than to start off by sharing our cute holiday photo card designs from Minted with you. Please keep Minted in mind when shopping for your own cute holiday photo card designs this year – we heart Minted big time.

Happy Holiday from Jen’s Family!

Minted Simply Joyous Holiday Card

This year we had our family photos taken in downtown Santa Ana by the lovely Kristin Eldridge, and I was in LOVE with this colorful MINT (ironic, right!?) door we found in an alleyway. I have a thing for pretty doors.

Because the color was so vibrant, I wanted to choose a simple design, and this Simply Joyous Minted design was the winner. Although it was tough because Minted has so many cute holiday photo card designs to chose from.

I highly recommend using the Find It Fast Feature – which allows you to upload your photo(s) and Minted will automatically populate the designs with your photo so you can scroll through and see the designs with YOUR photo in it.  Makes it easy to quickly find the designs that catch your eye.

I was able to move the text from the original design from the bottom to flush left to keep all text to the left and us on the right. Minted makes it very easy to make changes to text, font, spacing or sizing and then provides a very clear proof for approval prior to printing so you can make sure everything is just right.

girls card

On the back, I opted for the 1 Photo Story option which allowed me to add a close up photo of the girls and tell a little bit about life in the Scheumann family.  Some text I edited out just for blog display, so don’t think I lost my mind and printed weird sentences!

I am a big fan of adding in some details on the back of your photo card. I love receiving holiday photo cards that share about the family’s year.

Again, I was able to change the font and increase size to my liking!

One of my absolute FAVORITE Minted features this year was their free designed envelopes and free recipient addressing they are offering! It was so easy.

I downloaded their address template, entered in my addresses, uploaded to my Minted account and now all my addresses are saved in the address assistant.

Yes, it was time consuming to do this for the first time, but now I can utilize this every year because the information is saved in your Minted account. I love the designed envelopes. LOVE THEM!

Happy holidays – may your season season be extra jolly!

Happy Holidays from Susanne’s Family!

We are so thrilled to be using Minted for our Holiday Cards again this year!  I’ve gotten an early start and hope to have them out around Thanksgiving.

We took our Family Photos with the amazing Kristin Eldridge and she helped us come up with some fun ways to play around with the “Is it a boy or a girl?!” theme.  My prego belly in full effect!

it's a Wonderful Life Holiday Photo Card from Minted

I loved pouring over the amazing selection of designs Minted has to offer.  Incredibly, I was quite decisive this year with the “It’s a Wonderful Life” and chose to use the Happy Holidays version instead of Merry Christmas since we are sending them out so early.

I decided to save a few dollars by removing the rounded edge, but then upped the ante by including the photo a little blurb about our girls on the back side.

The icing on the cake this year is that Minted is offering FREE recipient addressing!  It comes in a wide selection of different styles with tons of charm!  I chose the style recommended as a match for my card selection because I knew I’d never be able to choose.

It gave me the motivation to get organized and clean up my list (much more efficient than my usual system of scribbling down any new addresses on last year’s spreadsheet in my chicken scratch).  It feels REALLY good to know my list is up-t0-date and now saved under my Minted profile so when I have cards to send out for this baby’s announcement I am organized and ready to roll.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Favorite Holiday Photo Card Sites

If you landed on this page today, you are about to read about one of my absolute favorite topics – super cute holiday photo cards!   Every year, I pour over my favorite holiday photo card sites to find the latest and greatest designs to share with you.  Mail time in December is by far, the most wonderful time of the year for me.

This year I found many companies really pushed the envelope (pun intended!) with their new unique holiday photo card designs.  Forget the same ‘ole, same ‘ole! How about a card made out of real wood with a 2015 calendar on the back, a family booklet, or a card that is 3 cards in 1?

Please note, Tiny Oranges is an affiliate partner of all these companies, which means if you click through on the links and purchase your cards, I receive a small percentage. No extra cost to you – everything is as it would be if you clicked direct – it just helps me out and supports my blog so I can keep it free for my readers.

Without further ado, here are my…

 4. Love vs. Design

Love vs. Design was a new discovery for me this year and I was very excited to see all their darling holiday card designs. They are a wedding stationery company, so many of their cards feature designs for couples,  but they have many designs that would be perfect for families.

All of their cards can be customized with your wording, photo(s), font and color selection and all orders include 3 free proofs, so you can make sure your design is just how you want it.

6. Tiny Prints

Of course, right? Yes, Tiny Prints is a long time favorite of many, and this year they really pulled out the stops with two awesome new design features.

1. Letterpress holiday cards! Letterpress printing makes me drool. I’m not kidding. There is something just so classic and luxurious about classic letterpress.  Beautiful.

2. Laser-cut holiday cards! Add an element of interest with a card design that features laser cuts. Did I say unique or what?!

7. Artifact Uprising

Talking about designs that make me drool, the whole entire Artifact Uprising site makes me drool.

The site offers the most beautiful photo gifts for pretty much everyone on your list.  Beautiful photo books, Instagram books, calendars, and more.

Their holiday photo cards follow the same, simple and tasteful designs.

One unique holiday photo card that caught my eye this year is the 3-in-1 holiday card design they offer (pictured above #7). This is the first holiday card that can truly be repurposed!

With perforated seams, the 3-in-1 card consists of three parts: photo print, gift tag and greeting card.

Your family and friends can tear away the photo for display year round and use the gift tag for holiday gifts. Clever.

8. Pinhole Press

Pinhole Press  was another new company I found this year and really loved.  Offering beautifully simple photo cards, I loved their different collection of collage photo cards.

The Merry Christmas design collage shown above gives you the opportunity to display 18 photos in your card.  I think it would be a very cute idea to include family photos all throughout the year in one of their collages.

Worth a peek for sure.

9. Night Owl Paper Goods

Yet, another new discovery this year, Night Owl Paper Goods offers really unique holiday cards and ornaments (and lots of other super cute gifts)! When you personalize your card, you have the option to have it printed on eco-friendly, sustainably harvested birch wood. Yes, that’s right, real WOOD.

I bet that card would catch the eye of your family and friends as I can almost guarantee no one has ever received a wooden holiday card before!

To make your card into a gift that lasts the whole year long, you can opt to have a 2015 calendar printed on the back. Love, love, love, love, love this! Your holiday card then becomes a GIFT they can use the whole year round. Flippin fabulous.

10. Purple Trail

And, my last, but not least fun new find for this year – Purple Trail – and another one to check out for cute affordable holiday cards.

Low prices, and tons of customizable options.  Most fun to me are the shape options, like the cute heart shape above.  Something like a fun shape give your cards that extra element of interest to stand out from the rest.
