Looking for a Great Bounce House Rental Company?

I often get asked if I have recommendations for an OC bounce house rental company to which I answer, “Why YES I do!”

Orange County Jumpers has been a longtime friend and sponsor of Tiny Oranges for years, and is actually the only OC bounce house rental company I have ever used because I have been so happy with their jumpers and service!

Family owned and operated in Orange County for almost 15 years, there is a genuine pride in the service and products they provide. Every time I have called during operating hours, there is a live person to pick up the phone. I love this!

But here is my favorite part, when the delivery associate delivers and sets up the bounce house for you, they clean and sanitize the interior. Beautiful.

Orange County Jumpers has a large variety of bounce houses to choose from and the prices are super reasonable. They have themed panel jumpers to go with your party theme, licensed combo jumpers, slide jumpers, interactives and even water slides (hello summer!)

Just check out this slide,  an 18′ dual lane water slide which features side by side slides for racing. Think the kiddos would have fun on this in the summer?

In addition to their jumpers, they also have a variety of party rentals available to make it easy on you. Items like pop up canopies, tables, chairs, picnic benches are available for rent, as are cotton candy, popcorn and bubble machines.

Remember this OC bounce house rental company for your next party OR have a group of neighbors pitch in on one and have an impromptu block party this summer with Orange County Jumpers!

Party On with Minted!

Many of you might be familiar with one of my favorite stationery brands, Minted, for their beautiful holiday photo cards or birth announcements, but today, I wanted to share their adorable indie-designed birthday invitations and matching birthday party supply sets for kids.

[Please note that all links in this post are affiliate links and very well might go towards my little one's upcoming birthday party!]

I am a big fan of receiving fun mail. You know the type of mail that arrives in a personally addressed envelope to brighten your mailbox? I am also a sucker for a cute  birthday party theme and gorgeous invitation. Minted puts my two loves together in their birthday party supply sets like these…

It might be the former wedding planner in me, but there is something that makes a party just that much more special when there is a theme and matching details.

The best way to incorporate these details are to use them from your guest’s first impression to the last. From the birthday party invitation to the party favor tag and thank you note, you can weave your party theme into each little detail to tie it all together with a pretty little bow.

Minted makes shopping for matching birthday party supplies easy, as specific themes offer many cute coordinating pieces like cupcake wrappers, welcome signs, table signs and bunting banners.

Minted Birthday Party Invitations

Minted also has a ton of adorable birthday invitations for endless themes. Minted designs are simply synonymous with style.

All of Minted’s designers are independent, allowing them access to thousands of talented individuals.  Each month they hold design challenges and the Minted community votes on their favorites, producing the cutest designs.

The majority of their designers are mothers, and you know what they say, it takes one to know one and Minted’s mom designers sure know what moms are looking for!

Here are a few of my favorite Minted birthday party invitations….

Mexican Fiesta Theme Kids’ Birthday Party

When I saw pictures of this fiesta theme birthday party on my friend’s Facebook page awhile back, I thought, my readers have got to see this! So without further ado, here are some great ideas for a Mexican fiesta theme kids’ birthday party written by local OC mom, Lyndsay….

“I wanted to share the ideas and photos from the Mexican fiesta to celebrate our children’s 1st and 3rd birthdays in our new home!

We have been wanting to have this party for quite some time, and it’s always been important to us that our children have fond memories of the most important days in our lives. It was the perfect opportunity to both celebrate their birthdays in a home my husband has worked so hard to build for us with the people who are important in our lives.

Like everyone else, I’m obsessed with Pinterest, but I’m equally obsessed with Etsy. It has the absolute best resources for unique handmade and personalized items at such affordable prices.

Invitations were purchased online and instead of going with a traditional birthday theme, I customized a Mexican wedding invitation complete with address labels that made it so easy and a little more formal.

The day of the party, our fiesta theme was beautifully decorated with the most fun details that our budget allowed!  The mustache straws were a big hit!  They sell pretty much every shaped mustache that you can think of and threw in a bunch of extras with our order. The glitter ones were my favorite… but then again, what girl doesn’t love glitter?!

The brightly-colored poms hanging outside of the front of the house were a tedious task that my husband painfully endured after the kids went to bed (as I directed with a good bottle of wine!).

Even the kids’ outfits were chosen to go with the theme!  We found my  son’s shirt online with a matching cape (his favorite accessory!) and we found my daughter’s dress from the most darling shop in Old Town San Diego.

They have the best decorations from Amols at the most reasonable prices I’ve ever found in my endless online searches. Our piñata was so full with fun giveaways from Amols that we seriously forgot to take pictures!

The food was really easy and affordable, since we were feeding a crowd!  My husband made his famous ahi ceviche as an appetizer (in individual cups with corn chips) and the rest was taken care of my the ever popular “Salvador Taco Guy” (call 310-753-2921 to book him).

I wish I had time to make a plate, but I was too busy drinking endless margaritas from The Orange County Margarita Man margarita machine!

Our son was very much looking forward to his birthday cupcakes from Sugar From the Heart Bakeshop.  We stayed with our theme and chose the Mexican spice with milk chocolate frosting (and dark chocolate mustaches of course!) and dulce de leche cupcakes with a browned butter frosting and caramel topping. They were approximately $3 each, but honestly, tasted even more amazing then they looked!

We served the cupcakes on personalized plates that were created from our friend, Aedriel’s Etsy shop.

And a Mexican fiesta isn’t complete without a mariachi band!  We had the band playing on the front porch at the beginning of the party to usher guests in and immediately set the festive vibe for the party.  I think I have a slight crush on Richard and I’m pretty sure most of my girlfriends did too :)

The kids were easily entertained by the bounce house from Surf City Bouncers and they also provided the chairs and tables at a ridiculously affordable price.

Our celebration was perfectly captured by our close friend, Candace of Candace Rock Photography, who photographed our special day in between refills from the margarita machine. She is so incredibly talented and it was such a treat to have this day so beautifully documented. You can see her work at www.CandaceRock.com.

To show our appreciation to our friends and family for joining us (and for the generous birthday loot for the kids!), we created a photo card from Tiny Prints to send out after the party.

Our Mexican Fiesta was such a big hit that we are planning to make it an annual summer event!  I am very much looking forward to the margarita machine returning to my backyard along with the bounce house “babysitter” that wore all the kids out! Ole!

Thanks for sharing Lyndsay! So many of these cute ideas could also be incorporated into a Dora or Diego theme birthday party as well. I love a Mexican theme. Maybe that also has to do with my love for tacos & margaritas?

If you have a party you would like me to feature to help other moms with theme ideas (extravagant, simple or somewhere in between) please send me an email to jennifer {at} tinyoranges.com!

A Beach Theme Birthday Party

This guest post today comes from Kristal, my friend over at the fabulous LA mom blog PierToPeer.net, about the darling beach theme birthday party she threw for her daughter’s 4th birthday last summer. I thought she had the cutest ideas on how to throw a super cute beach birthday party. Here is what she wrote…

Last year for my daughter Ella’s 4th birthday we decided to celebrate on the beach. Living in Manhattan Beach and having a summer birthday, it was the perfect setting for her big day.

We set the tone for the shindig by starting with the invitations. They were custom designed by Sahar Robertson of DesignsBySaidi on Etsy. She created a cartoon image of Ella from a photo I took of her. It was so cute and different, a hit with the invitees!

She also created the sandwich toppers and the gift bag tags.

For a party favor, we put together a special CD for the kids to take home.

Sahar helped design a CD cover for “Ella’s Summer Mix” to match.

We played the CD throughout the party to give it an extra fun vibe – nothing like some fun beach tunes to add to the party atmosphere!

Now onto the decorating ~ there are so many cute things you can do with a beach theme!

We went for a lunch menu of tuna, chicken salad and turkey sandwiches for the adults and mini sea shaped tuna and PB&J tea sandwiches for the kiddies provided by Lisa’s Bon Appétit in Torrance.

I also had pasta and fruit salads (made by yours truly) which were displayed in sand buckets and served with a shovel.

For yummy treats we had chips and salsa, goldfish, saltwater taffy and an assortment of other candies.

I named the food items with a fun sea theme of course on stationery from Michaels. Some examples are “Crunchy Coral” for the veggie platter, “Deep Sea Kelp” for the pesto pasta salad and “Fish & Chips” for the chips and goldfish. And my favorite, the “SAND-wiches!

And in lieu of a traditional birthday cake we went for sea decorated sugar cookies also provided by Lisa’s Bon Appétit. The cookies were a lot more manageable than cutting a cake on the beach.

I had canopies with colorful paper lanterns from Cost Plus World Market up for shade and lots of bubbles, beach balls and they even had a water balloon bonanza!

Planning a birthday party is one of my favorite things I look forward to doing every year. Having a theme in mind definitely makes the project that much easier and also a lot of fun.

I am currently working on her upcoming 5th birthday. A backyard campout, “Camp 5 Rocks!” Stay tuned on Pier to Peer for the upcoming feature.

Frogg’s Bounce House Birthday Parties

Last month I did a Fancy Nancy party for my oldest daughter’s 6th birthday at our house and I am still recovering. So. Much. Work. Therefore, when planning little sister’s birthday party a mere 3 weeks after, the only thing I knew I wanted was a party NOT at home!

One of Morgan’s favorite places to go in OC is Frogg’s Bounce House in Fountain Valley, so I thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate my soon-to-be 3 year old.  If you are looking for a great OC birthday party venue for kids, Frogg’s Bounce House was a HOPPIN’ good time!

Her party was so easy I almost felt like I was forgetting something.

Frogg’s Bounce House parties include:

* Between 2.5 – 3 hours of Open Play (depending on day of the week)
* Use of The Party Pond party room
* Invitations
* A special appearance by special guest, Frogalina

Although their birthday party packages include invitations, I opted to send a Paperless Post one, as I like the ease of tracking the RSVP’s as well as the reminders. As luck would have it, Paperless Post had three cute frog themed invites to choose from. I had a lot of fun with the frog theme – cute for boys or girls!

If you have not been to Frogg’s before, it is AWESOME!  I take my kids there all of the time.

It is a 9,000 square foot inflatable play zone with a gazillion different bouncers, a special toddler bounce house, kids’ playhouses, riding toys, train table, blocks, disco karaoke hut (hilarious to watch the kiddos in this!), couches for moms to kick back and FREE wi-fi.

But what I love most about Frogg’s is the place is as CLEAN as a whistle. Many of the moms who hadn’t been there before commented to me about the cleanliness factor. At Frogg’s Bounce House:

* No one is allowed in with shoes on, socks are required for everyone! Kids + adults!
* They hand sanitize everyone upon entry.
* Hand sanitizers are on all the tables.
* Crocs are provided outside the restrooms in a basket so you can borrow Crocs to use the restroom.
* Bouncers are completely sanitized each morning upon inflation.  I have seen the staff members cleaning them on multiple occasions.

The Party Pond is a huge area in the back of the facility, where you can set up your party.  There was a door conveniently located next to the party area so you can pull your car up right outside and easily load and unload all your items. When I got there, the staff was SO nice and friendly, offering me party bins for our beverages and they did a cute little sign on the white board announcing Morgan’s birthday. Because it is so colorful and they always have balloons at the facility, you really do not need to provide one thing decoration-wise.

Although 3 hours of play time would have been included since we had our party on a Monday,  I opted to make the party 2 hours long, which for little kids is the amount of time I find to be just about right.  All I had to do for the party was provide the food, drinks, paper goods and favors. It was a mom’s dream!

About an hour into the party, we served lunch. I had pizzas delivered and did an easy fruit salad and a couple Costco salads for the moms. Like I said, it was so easy it was ridiculous. After lunch the kids bounced for awhile longer, then we did cake and “Happy Birthday” followed by Frogalina’s appearance about 20 minutes prior to the party end time.

A very special thanks to Melanie from Sensitive Sweets who did that darling dairy-free frog cake for Morgan who is allergic to milk and eggs. We are so lucky there is a bakery in Orange County that specializes in baked goods for people with food allergies!

Upon leaving, we gave out these cute inexpensive favors from the .99¢ Only Store. I put a $1 jump rope in a green cellophane party favor bag and printed a circle sticker on the computer which said ”Thanks for jumping with me! xo Morgan” that I stuck on frog die cuts I found at the Dollar Tree.

I can’t more highly recommend a party at Frogg’s Bounce House. And for the price, I don’t even think these days you can do a party at home for much cheaper by the time you get all the decorations and entertainment.

I also like that this venue caters to all ages, so you can also include the little ones as well as older siblings, and everyone will have a fabulous time.

For more information on hosting a party at Frogg’s Bounce House, click here for their party information page.  You can also call 714.418.0442 to reserve your special day!

[Disclosure: I was provided the Frogg's party package complimentary in exchange for my time in sharing our experience with you. Love these kinds of win-win situations!]
