Through the years I have written about the free estate planning workshops Darylnn Morgan, of Morgan Law Group, hosts throughout the year for Orange County families to learn more about estate planning and naming guardians for their children.

A free Kids Protection Workshop is coming up later this month and I wanted to share the information, along with a recent reader testimonial.

What You Will Learn at the Workshop

1. Nine simple things you can do immediately to ensure your children are cared for by the people you want if something should happen to you.

Bonjour! Free French Lessons This Fall from Jacadi

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jacadi. All opinions are 110% my own! I love the Jacadi French Lessons for Kids. You will too. Allons-y (let’s go)!

Jacadi French Lessons

The other day I overheard a cute conversation between my 8-year-old daughter and her friends discussing where in the world they would go, if they could go anywhere. There was a clear winner in destinations – Paris.

“It just looks so BEAUTIFUL!”

“I want to see the Eiffel Tower!”

“I want to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower!”

“They speak a fancy language!”

And I couldn’t agree with them more.

In our household, we also have the Fancy Nancy book series to thank for the interest in French culture. Because, as fellow Fancy Nancy fans know, everything in French sounds fancy.

So imagine my daughters’ delight when I shared with them a series of Jacadi French lessons for kids recently launched on the Jacadi (pronounced jack-uh-dee) website. Free lessons on French culture? Oui! Oui! Sounds fun!

When To Toss Old Cosmetics

When to Replace Old Cosmetics

My cousin Kristin is an esthetician and during a recent facial we got to talking about shelf life of cosmetics. Realizing how little I knew about this topic, I asked to her write a post on when to replace old cosmetics. Here is what she wrote!

Being an esthetician, I can easily sing the praises of having monthly facials. Besides being a relaxing treat, an experienced licensed skin care therapist will use products customized to be as gentle or aggressive as needed for your individual skin type, condition and desired result.   Your skin needs to be professionally exfoliated and moisturized, just like your hair needs to be professionally cut and conditioned, and your teeth need to be professionally cleaned.

Equally, if not more important than regular facials, is your home skin care routine.

While the expense of quality beauty products might motivate you to keep products to the every last drop, it’s important to ensure the beauty products you are using aren’t past their prime.

WAKE UP! It’s a School Day!

Back-to-school sleep tips for kids

Many kids in this area are going to back to school after Labor Day, so I wanted to share some back-to-school sleep tips for kids to hopefully create brighter mornings when school starts.

From my work the past three and a half years with Serta, I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand the difference a good night’s sleep makes when sleeping on a quality, supportive mattress like the iComfort.  Serta’s Perfect Sleeper mattress is the official mattress of the National Sleep Foundation – a great resource site for all sleep topics.

Getting enough sleep is essential for a child’s health and well-being, especially during the school year so they can be alert and able to learn.

Summer inevitably brings later bedtimes for the kiddos. With lighter, later nights, fun activities and vacations, parents tend to relax a little on bedtime, especially if they can sleep in the next morning.

But when summer vacation comes to an end, it’s often a rude wake up call for kids to wake up early.

Here are some of my personal tips I have learned through my 8 years of parenting combined with expert advice on back-to-school sleep tips for kids from the National Sleep Foundation.
