This summer has been busy. Fun busy, but busy.
Yesterday morning after dropping Emma off at Cheer Camp, I already had a gazillion errands in mind to run with Morgan. Return to the Container Store, Target run, maybe an H & M shoe exchange, you know, just the general running around nuttiness.
I had to stop back at home for the Container Store bag which I forgot, and figured I should probably brush away my coffee breath while I was at it, so we went back in the house for few moments.
I was brushing my teeth when this little one walks in with her big eyes and bed head bob haircut and says, “Mommy, will you do the alphabet puzzle with me?”
We hung out on the floor doing puzzles for the first time in awhile. Just the two of us. I made it to the Container Store, just not at that moment. Her reminder to me to s l o w d o w n was a gift.
Does anyone else get caught up in all the things you “have to do??”
If yes, may I recommend taking 20 – 30 minutes to do a puzzle with your little ones today? Surprisingly therapeutic.
What do you do to remind yourself to slow down and appreciate these type of simple moments?

My family was lucky enough to score a Crystal Cove Beach Cottage and spent 3 nights down at the beach last week making great memories. I caught this moment of the girls just taking in the splendor of the view outside of our place. Sometimes I can’t believe we get to live in a place this beautiful.

You guys, I am in love. In fact, I am just smitten.
Please allow me to introduce Gavin, our newest family member.
This past Sunday my sister gave birth to that precious little human and I now have two nephews. Auntie Jen is just a tad excited.
I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to being able to enjoy EVERY single moment of the delicious newborn stage ~ without having a newborn myself.
I get to relish in all the cute little newborn moments, but then I get to hand him back and go home to get a good night’s sleep.
Being an aunt really is the best.
Just had to share our happy news. I know I am biased, but seriously, is he CUTE or what?!

Emma turned six on Monday.
As she was learning to read this year in Kindergarten, a couple times a month we would make a trip to the local bookstore to pick out a new Level 1 I Can Read Fancy Nancy book (her favorite) for her to practice her new reading skills.
Therefore, it was only fitting to do a Fancy Nancy themed birthday soiree last Saturday with some of her girlfriends, and it was splendiferous!
Here she is in her Spectacular Spectacles, which we did as a craft ~ an ode to the book.
Party post to come. Stay tuned. For more Wordless Wednesday pictures, head on over to www.AngryJulieMonday.com
I haven’t done a Wordless Wednesday post in awhile and I couldn’t resist sharing this one of my girls walking out to see if Santa arrived on Christmas morning.
I love that they are both holding their lovies and blankie.
I love that they are holding hands.
I love that my five-year-old does not get out of bed without a matching hair accessory.
I love matching Christmas jammies.
And most of all, I just love the look of joy and anticipation on their little faces.
