Minivans: Love or Hate?

minivans

Hi, my name is Jen, I am a mom, and I drive a minivan. The quintessential mom mobile. I know.

I love my Chrysler Town & Country minivan. See that sliding door? That is a beautiful thing when you have young kids.

It’s fabulous to cruise up to school pick up, push a button for the door to open, and watch the carpool kids easily climb in on their own. I pick up four girls in our carpool, and they can all find their way to a second or third row seat with ease. Once everyone is settled, the push button closes the door and we are on the way. It’s like magic.

I never have to worry about smacking an open door into another car in a parking lot while struggling with my child’s seatbelt. I can push a button on my keys and open the doors from afar to give the kids a head start getting in and into their seats. It’s nice to not have to worry about kids closing the door on themselves or their little fingers.

There are so many cup holders you can’t even use them all. Oh, and I really love the automatic key that allows me to open my car doors by sensor so I don’t have to dig in my purse to find my keys while my hands are full with kid crap.

So, I have to wonder, why would a car designed to make mom’s lives easier and more convenient arouse such hatred in people?

I have to say I honestly don’t get it. You know who I am talking about ~ the minivan haters.

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard

This Happened

graduated

Sunday morning I woke up at 8:03am. I can’t quite remember the last time I slept until 8am. I thought my husband had gotten up with the girls, but then I realized he was still snoozing too.

I walked downstairs and found my girls content on the couch. Emma had put on a show for Morgan and she was doing Lexia on the iPad.

What might not seem like a big deal was monumental to me. We had graduated out of the baby years.

My babies were able to get up and entertain themselves until we got up. I might have had a tear come to my eye. No, not tears of sadness, tears of JOY.

New Year’s Resolutions from an Exhausted Mommy

New-Years-Resolutions-from-an-Exhausted-Mommy-1

Here are my New Year’s resolutions…specifically, new year’s resolutions from an exhausted mommy.

As much as I love the holidays, as much as I love all of the extra parties and extra treats and extra late nights, I am very excited to start 2014 fresh and energized and organized and (hopefully) on top of it.

Except for one small tiny little detail. I’m exhausted. Anyone else in the same boat?

Minted photo calendar

This post on Minted photo calendars, new year’s cards and personalized valentines was actually supposed to be published yesterday. However, it had to be postponed for reasons I blame completely on Minted. You see, I thought it would be a good idea to do a couple mock up pages in a Minted photo calendar with my family photos to show as an example for this post.

So, there I go, playing around with the design and photos to personalize the first few months of a photo calendar, and what do you think happens?

Minted makes designing a personalized calendar so easy and it was turning out so stinkin’ cute to see my family in the photos I couldn’t stop.

I had to keep going month by month until it was finished. My blogging time turned into calendar designing, so therefore this post was pushed back a day. But so worth it. So, so worth it.

My oldest daughter helped me and we had so much fun going through our favorite photos from the past year.
