For those of you that are new to my blog, Tiny Oranges was a part of something very special last year when 110+ people joined our Team Tiny Oranges to help find a cure for pediatric cancer in the Cinco de Mayo Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) Run / Walk in Irvine.Together, we made a difference in the lives of children and families affected by pediatric cancer.
Now Team Tiny Oranges is back again to make a difference in 2012! Will you join us?
HELLO 2012! How are you guys? Did you have a great holiday?
Taking last week off from posting was very relaxing, but I have to admit, when I sat down to write this one, I was VERY happy to be back at it again!
Speaking of happiness, I was catching up on old DVR’d shows over the break and happened to watch a 20/20 on Katie Couric interviewing Regis Philbin before his last day on Live! One of the questions she asked him was to finish this sentence…
“I am happiest when…”
That question sort of sat with me through the week and I thought more and more about how I would finish that sentence. This is a time of year when I reflect on the year past and the things I want for the upcoming year.
So I brainstormed about the things that bring me joy and happiness.
It’s taken me the week to process the event from last weekend but I am now ready to share all the amazing details and wrap up what has been an incredible experience.

It’s here! It’s here! The PCRF race weekend has finally arrived!
That is our team banner above. One of my team members, Calee, from eXist Designs was generous enough to donate it to our team. I think it turned out so cute and even though this picture is not the greatest, I love how the sun reflected and made stars on the top left, because that is how I feel… Team Tiny Oranges is going to sparkle & shine this Sunday!
On October 17th I was running a race and thought, “wouldn’t it be fun to put together a team for the PCRF Run Walk in May?” In the beginning when I was considering starting a team I pondered whether I could even get the 10 people I needed to be considered a “team.”
Well, today we are 111 team members strong, and, have raised over $23,200 dollars for pediatric cancer research. I still am in a little state of disbelief at what our team has accomplished. Eighty cents on every dollar raised for PCRF goes towards research so I can’t tell you how happy it makes me knowing the dollars we raised truly will make a difference.
The past six months of planning this event have been a journey for me; one I don’t think I was fully prepared for going into it. At times it has been exhausting and a little emotional. Correction, really emotional. It has also been…
