Finally. A more smell proof lunch box. No need to brace yourself for impact when opening at the end of the day.

I really hate bad smells. Which sounds funny, because I am sure everyone hates bad smells, but I am particularly sensitive to bad smells and they can make me crazy.

One of my top personal odor offenders, is the smell the girls’ lunch boxes get after the school year gets underway. You know what I am talking about, right moms, that stale, gross stink that seeps into the plastic lining?

The plastic really starts to retain the stink and no matter how thoroughly we wash it, the smell always returns.   Therefore, when I discovered these Under Armour lunch boxes that are lined with plastic, I thought they would be worth a try to see if the plastic helped make it a smell proof lunch box.

I guess the official word for the plastic is PEVA lining. There is a pocket on the interior lid for an ice pack and there is plenty of room for a thermos and your reusable lunch box containers.

Back to School with RoseArt

There is something about fresh, brightly colored school supplies that makes me really happy. Is it just me??

Since I am sure many of you have back to school supply shopping on the brain, I wanted to share a post about RoseArt, a company that carries an extensive offering of stationery, pens, pencils, markers and crayons to ensure your family will be set when the first school bell rings!

I met the nice people of RoseArt at BlogHer earlier this month. I was so touched when, at the end of the Expo, they offered some leftover crayons for me to take back to donate to our local public school.  Our school was so appreciative and I love meeting companies with big hearts.

Earlier this summer RoseArt also sent me an activity craft set for review. It was a “Me & You Activity Time!” set that was available for a limited time at Target stores.  I don’t know if they are still in stores, but do keep your eye out for RoseArt craft and activity sets because my daughter loved it!

While browsing the site, I also came across these free coloring sheet downloads! I love free printables, click here to see them.

You can visit to shop supplies and find a RoseArt retailer near you!

[Disclosure: I received a couple free samples of crayons and pencils from RoseArt at BlogHer and received the above mentioned activity set complimentary. This is not a compensated post and all my opinions are my honest ones!]

Lakeshore Learning Store in OC

So I took Emma last weekend into Lakeshore Learning Store in Fountain Valley and the place is so awesome I had to write about it.   In Orange County, Lakeshore Learning also has a store in Laguna Niguel.  Have you guys been there before??  I was looking to buy her a little writing board and dry erase markers like they have at Whiz Kids and let me tell you, that was the place to go!  Lots of items (including the board I was looking for) were 20% off since they were having a Back to School sale now through Sept. 5th. Score!

I seriously could have spent 3 hours going through the place.  As a mega teacher’s supply store, there are toys, games, and activities for all ages and just the coolest finds.

I ended up with more than a writing board however!

We found a cute little birdhouse she can paint herself to put in our backyard, a Design-Your-Own Calendar to write in the dates that can be decorated, and stocked up on construction paper and paint.  You know, things to keep us busy at home for the next 6 weeks until preschool starts up again.

Definitely worth the drive to check out this store in person.  Great place for birthday gifts too. Tons of unique items you don’t see in the regular stores, and lots of fun educational stuff.

But take it from me,  budget extra time for browsing!
