An Endless Summer at Bacara Resort & Spa

family vacation at Bacara

Next week my family was invited to enjoy a family vacation at Bacara Resort & Spa on the Santa Barbara coast so I can report back with all the property has to offer parents looking for a family-friendly but also luxurious getaway.

Writing about California travel destinations for families is a passion of mine because for So Cal residents, I truly believe you do not have to get on a plane to enjoy a fabulous vacation!

That being said, with the money you will save on air fare, if you are looking for a property to splurge and be pampered, Bacara Resort & Spa is calling your name.

What I love most is that Santa Barbara is just far enough to feel like you are away from it all, yet close enough to be able to get there within a couple hours as to not waste time traveling.

This summer, Bacara Resort & Spa has customized itineraries through September 2nd based on popular reasons to visit Santa Barbara: Romance, Outdoor Adventure, Family Fun and Wine Tasting.

Here is more information on their family-friendly offerings:

Family Fun Under the Sun!

The Monarch Kids’ Club is a place for children ages 5 – 12 to explore and play while parents relax or visit the spa. Activities include art classes, butterfly trainer certification, Spanish tile decorating and more.  During the summer, the kids’ club is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Kids may also go on weekdays with 48 hours prior reservation.

Neighboring Bacara is the Coronado Butterfly Preserve where each year Monach butterflies migrate to the preserve during their over-wintering time typically between November and March, but the preserve is free and open to the public year round. I love that their kids’ club is named after their monarch neighbors.

Teens can enjoy a social media class called BacaraGram that teaches kids how to use the latest photo sharing and editing apps to create cool photos on their iPhone.

And all summer long, Bacara offers fun activities such as stargazing, fireside s’mores, movie nights and a special game room. Activities vary daily.

Stay Longer and Save

Bacara is offering an Endless Summer Stay Longer and Save package, stay three or more consecutive nights and receive the fourth free now through September 2, 2013.  To note: a $25 daily hospitality fee applies, which includes a bottle of wine, two bottles of water, use of the fitness center, and in-room coffee.

I can’t WAIT for our family vacation at Bacara to have the chance to share our experience with you. Make sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see photos of our #BacaraResort getaway!

To say I appreciate the opportunity is the understatement of the year.]

  1. We were married at the amazingly beautiful Bacara and went back for our 1st anniversary and “babymoon”. It is one of the most special places on earth. We can’t wait to take our (now 2.5-year old) son there!

  2. What an amazing spot to get married! I love that you have a special place now to go back and visit with your growing family. Thanks for sharing!
