Garage Sale Extravaganza Benefiting PCRF!

A month from today, Team Tiny Oranges will be rocking the PCRF Cinco de Mayo Run/Walk event so we are in the last month of FUNdraising! So far, our team has raised almost $16,000 for pediatric cancer research and we are going for $20,000! I KNOW we can do it!

One of my team members, Kristin Enrico, is organizing a HUGE community garage sale in two weeks and will be donating 100% of the proceeds to Team Tiny Oranges!

Kristin herself had pediatric cancer when she was three-years-old and is a proud survivor, so this cause is especially close to her heart.  I hope you can participate in this event to make it an outrageous success!

Here is what she wrote about the event…

When brainstorming fundraising ideas to raise money for PCRF I kept coming back to the idea of a huge garage sale.  I love garage sales. The whole idea of someone else’s tossed aside items being someone else’s treasure is just pretty cool to me.  I am a sucker for the design shows that repurpose a coffee table into a mantle.  I have dreams of being that creative.  But, I’m rambling.

So a garage sale extravaganza it is.  How can you help?

Well, have you done your spring cleaning yet?  What about those boxes in the garage you keep meaning to take to the Goodwill?

Yep, you guessed it we want your tossed aside items for our sale.  All proceeds will go to PCRF.

Either join us and sell the items yourself and then donate your proceeds to PCRF or hand them over and we will sell them.

Of course the latter means you will not get a tax deduction because we aren’t a fancy organization and can’t give you a receipt that the IRS would ever deem legit.  But we are more than willing to keep track of an item you donate over $100 and then get the money back to you on your honor that you will then go to our Tiny Oranges PCRF team and donate the money.  This way you get your receipt for your taxes.   Sorry, if that’s all confusing.  The IRS is nothing if not confusing.

I said extravaganza because this is not your ordinary garage sale. My cousin Chantel and I have gotten some wonderful new items donated by crafty people and cool things in a raffle you can bid on. Lots of new, fun shiny hair things for little girls and beautiful handmade baby mobiles and blankets.

Come the day of the sale to enter the raffle or follow us on Facebook to find out how and when to enter the raffle without coming to the actual sale.  Not that we don’t want to see you but we understand life is busy and maybe garage sales aren’t your cup of tea but you still want to help a wonderful cause this is how you can do it.
