One Mom’s Brilliant Post-Halloween Idea

costume-idea

I was at a friend’s one-year-old birthday party last Sunday (the day after Halloween) and was chatting with one of the moms there.  She had the most brilliant idea.   When I hear these types of ideas,  I immediately think “blog material!!”

She bought a whole bunch of costumes at post-Halloween clearance prices and was going to fill a dress-up box with all sorts of costumes to give to her son for Christmas.

My 3-year-old daughter loves to play dress-up and do lots of pretend play.     Forget all the toys with bells and whistles.   Give her a princess costume and some Fancy Nancy dress-up shoes and she can entertain herself for hours.

I thought “what a perfect Christmas gift this would be!”  Most of the stores now have major liquidation going on to get rid of their costume inventory.   It’s the perfect time to get a bunch of fun dress-up stuff and have a serious supply of entertaining items for the  New Year.

Moms have the greatest ideas – don’t they?  Thanks for the inspiration!!!

  1. I have saved every Halloween costume for years with my own children and now I have a large dress up assortment to entertain the grandkids for hours of play. The older ones even put on plays. Purchase an old trunk at thrift shop and let them decorate it.
