Wordless Wednesday – #1 Cupcake

My friend Melanie of Sensitive Sweets custom cakes and cupcakes in OC made these amazing cupcakes for my little ONE year old neighborhood bday bash last weekend. Red velvet for the patriotic theme of course with beautiful blue frosting and themed-sprinkles, flowers and stars to top. Absolutely gorgeous & even yummier to eat!

Too bad the guest of honor got stung by a bee on her way into the picnic which resulted in a minor allergic reaction and subsequently miserable baby. Murphy’s Law? Party girl had to go home early, but recovered just fine. I guess if there was ANY birthday for this to happen # 1 would be the one as she really had no idea what the hoopla was all about!

Ironically, given Melanie’s experience with her own son’s severe food allergies was THE person to have onsite when this happened! Sensitive Sweets makes regular delicious cakes (like ours!) but also specializes in cakes and cupcakes for those with allergies….dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, basically any ingredient-FREE-you-name-it, she can make it!

If you missed my previous post on my oldest’s daughters pajama party, click HERE to see the cake and cupcakes she did for that as well. People are still talking about how gorgeous they were! She is such a talent.
