Goosie Cards Personalized Flashcards [+ Giveaway]

Recently we were contacted by Goosie Cards, a company that specializes in personalized flashcards for children, about doing a giveaway on our site. When I clicked over and saw what a cute product it is, I wished I would have known about Goosie Cards when my girls were in their first year!

The first thing that came to my mind was how much I would have loved to make a set of flashcards of our entire family with pictures and names. Cards like Nana, Papa, Oma and Opa with the grandparent’s pictures on them.  Because to a grandparent, there is nothing more exciting than when their grandbaby babbles their name for the first time.  And what a great way to teach them! Keep reading below for a Goosie Cards coupon code and to enter to win your own set!

Offering two collections, Signature and Everyday, both flashcards feature one photo and up to five lines of text on one side.   At 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″, they are large, durable and laminated so they can withstand years of play.

The ideas for personalized cards are endless…family flashcards, A – Z flashcards, Spanish flashcards, household items, animals, chores (this might be my personal favorite!) just to name a few.

The cards can be ordered in any amount, with a 10 card minimum, and basically anything you can think of can be turned into a flashcard, using your own photos.  Don’t have ones you want to use? You can also access Goosie Cards 200 free professional photos at no extra charge.

The idea of family flashcards alone got me excited to share, but then when I talked to the Founder and CEO, Jennifer Marchetti, of Goosie Cards on the phone, I realized I only scratched the surface of ideas on just how many ways these special cards can be used.

When we spoke, her enthusiasm and passion for her product lit up our phone conversation.  It was very obvious how much her company means to her.

Jennifer explained she started the company when her son Zach was six months old.  As a mom, she loved using flashcards to help him learn.  Then she thought, wouldn’t it be great to have flashcards of things that were near and dear to his heart? The rest was history, and Goosie Cards were born.

At that time, she didn’t realize the impact she would have on a much bigger scale.

You see, when she started promoting and spreading the word about her company, she started talking with teachers and they flipped over what a great idea it was. For a long time, teachers have been making flashcards the old fashioned way, by cutting out pictures and laminating them.  Now, they had a way to personalize their own cards easily online.

From there, she started talking with educators and  parents of children with special needs and they both found great success using these cards with their special needs children.  Because the cards hold pictures that have individual significance to the child, they are able to make a stronger connection.  Her cards have been used with children with Autism as well as in speech therapy to help children with language delays and behavioral problems.

Because of their therapeutic qualities and developmental teaching benefits, Goosie Cards were rated between 4 – 5 stars by AblePlay.org which rates play products for children with special needs.

Isn’t that amazing? As a result, the company has gotten involved with charities benefiting Autism and she has been so touched on how her cards have been able to make a positive difference in children’s lives. This sort of story just makes my heart sing.

  1. I love your idea about turning family photos into cards. It would be a great way for my daughter to learn our families names!

  2. One of the “tips” – use the flashcards for special time with your child and have fun as you look at pictures of your family, friends, etc – great story time activity!

  3. We are trying to teach our kids sign language and I think this would be an ingenious way to use pics of ourselves to help with the learning process.

  4. One of the tips was that using pictures helps to encourage development with the use of written words.
