How much sleep does my child need?

The moment I became a mom I instantly became obsessed with the question, “How much sleep does my child need?“

Every time my child is cranky or going through a challenging phase, I always find myself wondering if they are getting enough sleep. Nice to have something to blame it on, right mamas?!

If kids don’t get the sleep they need, things can get ugly. That can go for moms too. Just sayin’!

In the course of working with Serta as a brand ambassador for their amazing mattresses, I learned of their partnership with the National Sleep Foundation. Serta’s Perfect Sleeper is the official mattress of the National Sleep Foundation.

Since this organization is an expert on all things sleep related, I poked around to see what they had to say about children and sleep, and came across this great article I wanted to share with you.

Video Monitors: You’ve Come a Long Way Baby

Today’s post is a Motorola video baby monitor review and I have one thing to say about video monitors, you’ve come a long way baby!

I bought my first baby monitor seven years ago with my firstborn. It was massive walkie talkie like device, with constant static.

Even though my girls aren’t babies anymore at ages four and seven, I still use a monitor with my little one because our bedroom is upstairs and we cannot hear her during the night without a monitor.

The last one I was using was not great, audio only, and again, a lot of constant static. The static drives me CRAY CRAY.

Where to Stay in Laguna Beach

Recently my husband and I were invited to sneak away for a little 24 hour getaway to the beautiful Pacific Edge Hotel on the sand in Laguna Beach.

As I was relaxing on a lounge chair their onsite beach attendant set up for us, looking out at the Pacific, I thought, “How lucky are we to LIVE in a place where Laguna Beach is only a short drive away?!”

Pacific Edge Hotel has special meaning to us because we got married there in 2001. I could look up to what is now The Deck restaurant and see the exact spot where we said, “I do.”  And, there we were, 11 years and 2 kids later. A lot of changes have happened since that Fall day.
