Discovery Science Center Gingerbread Competition

Discovery Science Center is seeking out delectable creativity from families, children, adults, businesses and organizations in their annual 2009 Gingerbread Contest! If you like sweets and adventure, try your hand at creating a delicious masterpiece out of gingerbread, icing and other edibles.

Tiny Oranges is going to take a stab at it this year. Wish me luck! It will be the first gingerbread house I have made since I was about 8 years old. I will just have to keep a close eye out for a little mouse named Emma when my back is turned. Don’t you remember just how irresistible a gingerbread house looked when you were little? I wanted to live in one!

Here are the details on this delicious competition!

Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe

I have lived in Orange County now for the better part of my (almost) 35 years and just recently went to the Nordstrom Café at South Coast for the very first time. And, boy have I been missing out all these years!

My sister and I were looking for an outing with our babies (they are 4 weeks apart) and she suggested meeting at the Café for lunch since we both had errands to run at the mall. Click here to read more!

Halloween-Time2

The calendar has turned, Fall is in the air and this month you can take your little goblins to experience a new kind of Halloween treat at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure!

Mickey’s Trick-or-Treat Party at Disney’s California Adventure

My family was lucky enough to experience Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party on Friday night, full moon and all! It was a beautiful night, probably about 78 degrees, the type of night that makes you happy you live in OC. However, my daughter’s furry costume made for one hot little Elmo. I was glad we brought some regular clothes too. I kicked myself for not throwing in last year’s Abby Cadabby costume – would have been way more weather-friendly!

A little about this super fun one-of-a-kind event! For 11 nights in October (8,9,15,16,21,22,23,28,29,30 & 31), adults and children alike can dress up and trick-or-treat in the ultimate Disney neighborhood. Click here to read more!
