An Endless Summer at Bacara Resort & Spa

family vacation at Bacara

Next week my family was invited to enjoy a family vacation at Bacara Resort & Spa on the Santa Barbara coast so I can report back with all the property has to offer parents looking for a family-friendly but also luxurious getaway.

Writing about California travel destinations for families is a passion of mine because for So Cal residents, I truly believe you do not have to get on a plane to enjoy a fabulous vacation!

That being said, with the money you will save on air fare, if you are looking for a property to splurge and be pampered, Bacara Resort & Spa is calling your name.

What I love most is that Santa Barbara is just far enough to feel like you are away from it all, yet close enough to be able to get there within a couple hours as to not waste time traveling.

Not a Fun Topic ~ But an Important One

This post was written by long time Tiny Oranges sponsor, Orange County estate planning lawyer, Darlynn Morgan, about the importance of taking the steps to protect your children legally if something were to happen to you. Not a fun topic, but an important one. Darlynn is hosting two free workshops for OC parents this month, details below. Here is what she wrote:

As parents, we know that bad things can happen to our family and that’s why we take steps to minimize our child’s risk or exposure.

We invest in the very best car seats, cabinet locks, helmets and other equipment—all in the name of keeping our children safe.   It feels like that’s all I ever think about, keeping my 3 year old son safe!

Yet when it comes to making sure our kids are protected in the event of mom or dad’s sudden death or incapacity, most parents find security by sticking their heads in the sand, doing nothing and thinking positive thoughts.

For some parents, they are in such denial that they don’t even let it cross their mind.  I understand; it’s very very hard to think about this stuff.

Let’s Make Fun Fourth of July Crafts for Kids!

Our family is getting excited for the Fourth of July – we have our festive outfits (okay, the kids have their cute outfits), we have our flags to wave, we have our super fun beach plans, and the kids have been practicing the Pledge of Allegiance.

All we’re missing?  A cute Fourth of July craft.  I googled and surfed Pinterest and asked my mama friends.  Here’s what I stumbled upon:
