It’s Time to Talk About Mental Health

pediatric mental health

Last month I attended a press conference at CHOC Children’s Hospital on their new Mental Health Initiative and learned some very eye-opening facts about pediatric mental illness.

The topic is an important one to me yet I have never written about it on my blog. For my entire life I have struggled with anxiety, starting as early as age 4.

But I have never really opened up about my struggles on my blog.

Taste of the Nation

Be a part of the 8th Annual Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation at Montage Laguna Beach Culinary Event on May 17, 2015!

Montage Taste of the Nation

Montage Laguna Beach will host the 8th annual Share Our Strength Taste of the Nation Laguna Beach event on May 17, 2015 at the oceanfront resort where the nation’s hottest chefs cook to fight childhood hunger.

My husband and I attended this event a few years ago, and let me tell you, it was one of the most memorable date nights, or rather date days, we have ever had.

First, it gives you a reason to get dressed up, which, for this mom is a real treat. Then, with one step onto the Montage Laguna Beach grounds you are immediately transported into a different world. Add in a glass of crisp Pinot Grigio or a festive bubbly while gazing out to the Pacific and you might think life couldn’t get better, but wait, the fun has just begun…>

Imagine a number of celebrity chefs all in one place where you get to…

This post is for my fellow Orange Countians (I have never written Orange Countian before and I think I like it!) Do you love where you live? I do. It’s hard not to, right? Truth be told, I also have a mad love for fundraising.

For those of you who have followed my blog for awhile, you might remember our Team Tiny Oranges raised over $30,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation a few years ago. The most beautiful example of what is possible when many people come together to donate to a cause.

-> It all adds up and makes a BIG difference!

Which is why I am over the California sun excited about the Orange County Community Foundation’s i♥oc Giving Day coming up on April 21st – 22nd, 2015. A first-ever countywide giving event to benefit local Orange County non-profit organizations working hard right in our own backyard.

I get a gazillion emails, not to sound ‘oh so important!‘ because I am not, it’s simply due to the fact that bloggers can get added to numerous PR and pitch lists so over time the volume of emails can get a tad overwhelming.

Many of them I have to skim and move on, because there often are not enough hours in the day, but this one email caught my eye. Well, actually it was the follow-up email that caught my eye…
